  • Reports indicate that security forces are deploying tear gas, water cannons, and stun guns at anti-government protests in several locations in Athens during the afternoon hours (local time) on November 17. Unrest is currently being recorded in the vicinity of Karaiskaki Square and the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
  • The demonstrations have been organized in opposition to numerous government policies and to commemorate the 1973 student uprising against the ruling military junta at the time.
