Israel Tactical: Disabled individuals to gather at Tel Aviv’s Azrieli Junction from 17:00 (local time) onwards on August 5; maintain vigilance

  • Traffic disruption and roadblocks around Azrieli Junction are expected to occur from 17:00 onwards.

Assessments & Forecast:

The slated protest comes amid longstanding demands for improved welfare schemes for disabled and elderly people in Israel. A similar protest was recorded on July 25 in Tel Aviv’s Azrieli and LaGuardia interchanges. The potential closure of the Azrieli Junction is also liable to cause traffic congestion in other parts of Tel Aviv over the coming hours.

Recommendations:

Those operating or residing in Tel Aviv are advised to maintain vigilance and allot for traffic disruptions near the Azrieli Junction from the late afternoon hours of August 5 due to the slated protest.
