• Air traffic control (ATC) staff employed by the government-owned Ente Nazionale per l’Assistenza al Volo (ENAV) air traffic management company will hold a four-hour nationwide strike on September 7 between 13:00-17:00 (local time).  
• Regional unions representing ATC workers in Genoa, Milan, Naples, Pescara, Rome, Turin also plan to strike during the same time period. 
• The strike is being held to demand better working conditions. 

1. Based on precedent, the nationwide strikes are likely to be widely adhered to. Although Italian law mandates minimum levels of essential services during labor actions, the strike is likely to cause temporary disruptions to aviation services, including possible delays and cancellations at major airports nationwide during the slated timing.  
2. While associated protests have not been announced, small demonstrations at counters and outside airports in the aforementioned cities are possible. Potential demonstrations are likely to transpire without major incidents of unrest.
