Kuwait Tactical (UPDATE): Authorities to close land, sea borders from February 24 until March 20; take necessary precautions to ensure business continuity

Please be advised:

  • According to Kuwait’s official news agency, all land and sea borders will be closed from February 24 until March 20, except for shipping operations and workers in the neutral zone (also known as the Divided Zone) between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. 
  • Kuwaiti citizens, along with their first-degree relatives and domestic workers, will be allowed to return to Kuwait via land and maritime ports.
  • Additionally, authorities also announced the decision to ban customers’ presence inside restaurants and cafes, including those located inside shopping malls, from February 24 until further notice. Delivery services will be allowed.
  • These measures have been taken to curb the spread of COVID-19.

Those operating or residing in Kuwait between February 24 and March 20 are advised to take necessary precautions to ensure business continuity due to the closure of all land and sea borders in the country during that period.
