Palestinian Territories Tactical (UPDATE): Authorities extend night curfew with amended hours, travel restrictions across West Bank until March 3; adhere to government instructions

Please be advised:

  • According to the Palestinian Authority’s (PA) official news agency, the authorities have extended the ongoing restrictive measures across the West Bank until March 3.
  • Beginning on February 17, a night curfew with amended hours will continue to be implemented every night from 21:00 (local time) until 06:00.
  • A complete lockdown will also continue to be implemented during the weekends (Fridays and Saturdays). Only pharmacies and bakeries are allowed to remain open during this time.
  • Furthermore, a ban on all public and private transport between the PA’s governorates will continue to be implemented. Medical staff, university students, academics, or employees in possession of permits issued by the authorities, are exempted from this measure.
  • Additionally, all education levels, including nurseries and kindergartens, can continue regular schooling hours under the current “hybrid learning model”, which represents a combination of online learning and in-person classes. All educational institutions are required to adhere to health protocols.
  • Workers from the Palestinian Territories [who work in Israel] will not be allowed to commute to and from the West Bank during this period.
  • Arab citizens of Israel will continue to not be allowed to enter the Palestinian Territories during this period.
  • Public and private institutions will continue to be permitted to operate at 30 percent capacity. “Productive sectors” [agriculture and manufacturing] will be allowed to operate at 50 percent capacity.
  • Additionally, sports clubs, barbershops, restaurants, and cafes will continue to be permitted to operate at 30 percent capacity.
  • Events and large gatherings will remain prohibited.
  • The measures are being implemented as part of the authorities’ efforts to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
