Please be advised:

  • According to Turkey’s official news agency, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced on November 17 that a partial curfew will henceforth be imposed across Turkey on weekends until further notice to stem the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. The curfew will be imposed between 00:01 (local time) and 10:00 as well as between 20:00 and 23:59 each Saturday and Sunday.
  • The curfew will not be applicable between 10:00 and 20:00 to prevent the disruption of supply and production chains.
  • The report further stipulated that the partial curfew that is currently in effect for people over the age of 65 will be expanded to include individuals under the age of 20. They are only permitted to leave their homes each weekday between 10:00 and 16:00. Exemptions from this measure will be made for those traveling for work. The regulation is in place until further notice.
  • Shopping centers, markets, and salons are permitted to operate between 10:00 and 20:00 on weekdays, while restaurants are permitted to offer delivery service. Cinemas across the country will remain closed until further notice.
  • Educational institutions are instructed to continue distance learning until the end of the year, while all sports competitions are permitted to continue without an audience.
  • As a reminder, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) has imposed a nationwide ban on smoking in “crowded public areas”, such as public squares, avenues, and public transportation stops. The measure is in place until further notice.
