  • The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) stated that it has received reports from multiple sources of “suspicious activity” within the Gulf of Aden during the morning hours (local time) on May 23.
  • It added that there have been multiple reports of vessels being approached by skiffs, including a large skiff with two engines carrying ladders and weapons.
  • Authorities have advised vessel operators to transit the area with caution, follow guidance, and report any suspicious activity to the UKMTO.
