Lebanon Tactical: Protesters block roads to Beirut’s Martyrs’ Square, Chevrolet intersection with tire fires during evening hours of March 2; avoid nonessential travel

  • According to Lebanon’s national news agency, anti-government protesters have blocked roads leading to Martyrs’ Square and Chevrolet intersection in Beirut with tire fires during the evening hours of March 2. 
  • The protest is being held to denounce the deteriorating economic situation and the devaluation of the Lebanese Pound.

Recommendations:

  1. Those operating or residing in Beirut during the evening hours of March 2 are advised to avoid nonessential travel to the vicinity of Martyrs’ Square and Chevrolet intersection due to the ongoing unrest.
  2. Remain apprised of further potential spontaneous protests which may occur throughout Beirut for the remainder of March 2.
