Egypt Tactical: Suspension of operations ongoing at Alexandria, Dekhila, Hurghada, Nuweiba, Sharm El-Sheikh ports during morning hours of February 17 due to inclement weather; allot for disruptions
Please be advised:
- According to the Red Sea Ports General Authority, operations at Hurghada Port in Red Sea Governorate, Nuweiba, and Sharm El-Sheikh ports in South Sinai Governorate remain suspended during the morning hours of February 17 due to inclement weather conditions.
- Additional reports indicate that operations at Alexandria Port (also known as Bughazi) and Dekhila Port in Alexandria Governorate have also been suspended due to the same reason.
- At the time of writing, it remains unclear when the ports will reopen.
Recommendations:
- Those conducting business through or planning to dock at Alexandria, Dekhila, Hurghada, Nuweiba, or Sharm El-Sheikh ports on February 17 and in the coming days are advised to compensate for possible delays in operations, including delivery delays due to the ongoing suspension of operations at these ports.
- Remain apprised of weather forecasts and notifications issued by the Red Sea Ports Authority and find alternative options for ports for the coming days in light of the closures and potential for continued disruptions due to inclement weather conditions.
