Syria Tactical: SDF-affiliated AANES announces closure of border crossings, curfew in northeastern Syria from 17:00 (local time) to 07:00 between April 23-29; adhere to instructions
Please be advised:
- According to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF)-affiliated Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), a curfew will be implemented in its administered territories between April 23-29.
- The curfew will be implemented every day between 17:00 (local time) and 07:00.
- In the AANES’ Jazirah Region (most of Hasakah Province) and Tabqa Region (Raqqah environs), a full lockdown will be implemented during this period.
- During this time, all border crossings in AANES-administered territories will be closed with the exception of humanitarian cases, hospital patients, students, and commercial movement.
- Shops selling food and essential items will be excluded, providing that they only operate between 08:00 and 17:00. Restaurants may only operate for deliveries.
- Hospitals, clinics, humanitarian organizations, media professionals, bakeries, and fuel stations are exempt from the measures.
- The movement of farmers and their related labor force is only permitted between their place of work and their homes while adhering to social distancing regulations.
- During this period, work will be suspended in AANES institutions and departments except for those which must remain open and will be determined by the AANES.
- All citizens must adhere to health regulations, mainly social distancing and wearing a mask.
- This measure is taken to contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Recommendations:
- Those operating or residing in the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF)-affiliated Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) between April 23-29 are advised to adhere to authorities’ instructions and take necessary precautions to ensure business continuity due to the closure of border crossings and curfew regulations in this region.
- Remain abreast of local authorities’ updates due to the potential for additional COVID-19-related restrictions on movement.
