Syria Tactical (UPDATE): SDF-affiliated AANES announces extension of closure of border crossings, curfew in northeastern Syria until May 6; adhere to instructions
Please be advised:
- The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF)-affiliated Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), extended the closure of border crossings and curfew in its administered territories until May 6.
- The curfew will be implemented every day between 19:00 (local time) and 07:00.
- During this period, all border crossings in AANES-administered territories will continue to be closed with the exception of humanitarian cases, hospital patients, students, and commercial movement.
- Gatherings for weddings, mourning, and other social events are prohibited.
- All cafes, cafeterias, markets, and restaurants may only operate for deliveries.
- During this period, work will be suspended in AANES institutions and departments except for those which must remain open and will be determined by the AANES.
- This measure is being taken to contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Recommendations:
Those operating or residing in the SDF-affiliated AANES-administered territories until May 6 are advised to adhere to authorities’ instructions and take necessary precautions to ensure business continuity due to the extension of the closure of border crossings and curfew regulations in this region.
